Join us for Blogmas 2019

Hi there,

It has been quite a while since our last post. We have moved to our own apartement after living with family for almost a year. It took us a while to get settled into our new home and to feel comfortable. Now that we live here for the last 4 months we feel good and are ready to get back into the blogging again. (Not that we have done much of it yet!! :D)

I have done a lot of reading about how to create your own blog and what you need to consider. Some might say a blog is dead if it does not have so many visitors a day or week or month. I find this to be a tricky thing with small personal blogs. I guess it has a lot to do with what you want to achieve with the blog. As for us, we just want to share some thoughts and things we find enjoyable. Almost like a blog from the early days but maybe with a more exciting design to it. We want to use this as a kind diary of our travels and the activities we are doing. If we can reach just even one person and they find our posts to be useful or entertaining, thats abolutely awesome.

Dye easter eggs with onion skins

Dye easter eggs with onion skins

Dyeing easter eggs has been a fun activity in the week leading up to easter and it has been part of my easter preps for as long as I can remember. There are many ways how you can get those eggs colorful and I want to show you a traditional way of doing it. With onion skins and fresh leaves. It is super easy and the results are amazing. This can definitely be a special treat to add to your easter presents or for your easter morning breakfast.

7 Things that will help you when moving to Germany

7 Things that will help you when moving to Germany

Moving to a new country is such an exciting experience but it takes some time to settle in and understand the new customs and bureaucracy. Which germans love. We have listed 7 things that we found helpful when moving to Germany first. We did not include how to apply for visas as there are many different options depending on the counry that you are moving from. As we both are EU citizens we did not have to go through the process of applying for a visa. For the time being, we have moved in with family and as such we also did not have to look for our own new apartmet. But this is a project for the future and we will of course keep you also posted about this.

What happened?!?

What happened?!?

It has been a very long time since our last blog post and a lot has happened during that time. We had great intention to write a new article and let you know our news. However, to do this properly one needs the right mindset. Now we are finally at this point and we are already looking forward to more regular updates and articles.

In August 2018 we moved to Germany. This has been a decision that we had thought about for quite some time. We love Ireland with it’s beautiful landscape and the even lovelier people so it wasn’t an easy decison to make. It may have been fate that finally helped us to make this decision.

Offbeat Louisburgh

Offbeat Louisburgh

We were thinking for the last couple of weeks what would be a good post to start our blog with and after being away for a weekend in Louisburgh we find that the experience we had is worthy of being our first post as we had an absolutely magical and amazing experience that we want to share with you. So here it goes:

Sitting at home on a Saturday afternoon watching “The Rain” on Netflix (we are still unsure if we like the show or not), suddenly, Tracie’s phone started ringing and a lovely guy Shane asked if we are still coming to The Atlantic Lodge in Louisburgh for our weekend trip which we had booked a couple of weeks ago. I could see the panic in Tracie’s face as she said: “Oh did I not cancel this? I booked it online and it completely went out of my mind.” After a short conversation it was clear we either had to go or let our booking fee go to waste by being lazy and watching more Netflix. It was clear we could not do the latter and as such we rushed to pack our things and hopped into the car for a 4 hour drive to Louisburgh, Co. Mayo.
